March Product Highlight - Born Free Sippy Cups

If you run in crunchier circles, you're bound to eventually hear about the controversy surrounding the use of Bisphenol-A in baby products. There are plenty of websites better able to fill you in on the potential dangers of this chemical that is found primarily in clear plastics - my goal is only to promote one BPA free product that I've found. Lil Blue has four of the training cups, and we love them. They are a perfect size to give her enough water without being too terribly heavy. Leaking is non-existent. The handles are easily grippable by tiny hands. The inner valve is easy to manipulate and does a good job regulating flow. Most importantly, the bottles are made of a completely BPA-free type of plastic. So far they're holding up well to constant tossing from high chair to hardwood floor.

I'm eagerly awaiting my kleen kanteen sippy bottle. I'll let you know how that works for us!

Parrothead Blues

So for the first time in my adult life, I don't have Jimmy Buffett tickets. Not because I couldn't beg, borrow or steal them...because I didn't buy them. Why? Because I just don't have the energy to coordinate the evening with the military precision it would take to get me, Mr Blue and Lil Blue there at the same time.

All the fun things I thought I'd do with my kid just seem like way too much work. I still muster some enthusiasm for art projects and playdates, but it just feels like I'm creatively tapped out right now. Luckily I live in a city that seems to have an abundance of cool, non-commercial activities for young-uns facilitated by younger, better rested, and more creative people than myself.

Oh, but I'll probably still tailgate the Buffett concert. I'm not that lame, yet.

All-One! All-One!

I'm happy to report that I'm still loving my Dr Bronner's soap. I really believe that it works best with a foaming pump, however. I bought five off of eBay and replaced all of my hand soap dispensers, and put one in the shower. Fabulous! I'm slowly replacing my body wash, face soap and shaving gel and just using diluted Dr. B's. I also cleaned my floors with a diluted mixture of Mrs Meyer's and a couple squirts of Dr. B's. It cleaned my ceramic tile kitchen floor as well as my hardwood! Maybe those hippies were right after all...this stuff is pretty much perfect! Plus its saving me tons of money that I would have been spending on other soapy products - the fact that you can dilute it so much means a little bit goes a long way. My current favorite scent is Almond but come summer time I'm planning on switching to Lavender. YUM!
